Location – Nairobi, Kenya

Salary - $5000 per month (after local tax)

Package includes:

Job Purpose

The Group Technical Manager will provide support services to the Chief Operating Officer in a technical and security system capacity.   In partnership with the COO/Country Managers responsible for establishing the company’s technical visions, developing the product roadmap and leading all aspects of the company‘s technology development.  This position is responsible for maintaining existing systems, while providing direction in all technology-related issues in support of information operations.  You will play an integral role in setting the company’s strategic direction, development and future growth, positioning the company’s service offering as a leader in the security industry.”

The Group Technical Manager’s responsibilities include, but are not limited to the following:


  • Manage development of products in the most cost effective manner within quality standards;
  • Responsible for the design and development of products;
  • Involvement in the proposal stage with other departments;
  • Oversee technical department to attain maximum efficiency in designing and delivering technical solutions to clients;
  • Direct activities so that technical solutions are developed on schedule and within quality standards and cost objectives and meet customers’ requirements;
  • Review, analyze and approve the department’s operational and project budgets;
  • Establish financial benchmarks and projections for departments as products and sales increase;
  • Formulate and recommend operational policies and programs that guide the organization in maintaining and improving its competitive position and the profitability of the technical operation;
  • Achieve optimum labor, overhead and material costs;
  • Evaluate and approve new headcount, hiring, and employee performance within the department;
  • Drive the company to achieve and surpass sales, profitability, cash flow and business goals and objectives;

    Person Specification

  • Degree in Electronics / Computer science or Communications.
  • Demonstrated ability to envision and architect security solutions that meet consumer needs or solve business problems
  • Minimum of 6 years of professional experience
  • Minimum of 4 years’ experience managing tech teams
  • Experience and knowledge in video analytics
  • Experience in Back Office systems and knowledge in business workflow
  • Ability to have effective two-way communication with management and other staff
  • Provide leadership and motivation to the development team
  • Knowledge of Internet protocols, Security communication protocols, Database management systems
  • Familiarity with information security vulnerabilities and risk management
  • Exposure to business theory, business process development, governance processes, management, budgeting, and administrative operations
